Smoothie station offers breakfast alternative

Students at Tates Creek High School in Lexington, Ky. can now opt for the “Creek Nation Smoothie Station” as a breakfast choice.

The opening of the Creen Nation Smoothie Station has given students at Tates Creek High School another breakfast option, says Kyforward.com.

Jo Geddes, a health and physical education teacher at the school, secured the smoothie machine through a grant, the website reports.

Every Thursday until April—when they’ll be available every morning—the cafeteria will offer 8-ounce smoothies. According to officials, the first flavor, a blend of applesauce, cinnamon, vanilla yogurt and apple juice, was recently taste-tested.
