Faculty and staff at Sharyland Independent School District in Mission, Texas, participated in active shooter training in preparation for the school year, The Monitor reports.
The training was conducted by the local sheriff’s office and was intended to teach faculty and staff how to be aware of their surroundings and how to secure rooms until first responders can act.
Everyone from cafeteria employees to school board members were present at the training.
