New chef strives for student approval

The New School’s new executive chef has introduced such items as a Korean vegan burger with pickled cabbage, a Yucateco Whitefish taco and a create-your-own ramen bowl.

Since Brian Duhart became executive chef of The New School’s University Center cafeteria, his menus have drawn mixed reviews, reports The New School Free Press.

The new dishes include a Korean vegan burger with pickled cabbage, a Yucateco Whitefish taco and a create-your-own ramen bowl. While some students have reportedly taken to the new selections, others have voiced disappointment that Duhart didn’t go farther.

Kat Rowland, a New School sophomore, expressed hopes that Duhart reaches out for student feedback for future menu selections.

“I think they should put out a survey and see what students want and then cater to the students,” Rowland said.
