Joan Rector McGlockton joins NRA

April 5—The National Restaurant Association has named Joan Rector McGlockton its vice president of industry affairs and food policy.

In her new position, McGlockton will lead the NRA’s food regulatory policy and advocacy efforts. She most recently served as senior vice president of corporate affairs for Sodexo. During her 12 years with Sodexo, McGlockton also served as associate general counsel, where she was part of the company’s senior leadership team. Prior to Sodexo, she served as corporate secretary at Marriott International, Inc.

McGlockton has served on several non-profit boards including the Sodexo Foundation, American Dietetic Association Foundation and the Howard University School of Business Hospitality Management advisory board. McGlockton earned her bachelor's degree from Duke University and a law degree from Harvard Law School.

"Joan brings a breadth of knowledge of food service and restaurant operational issues to this key leadership role for the association," Scott DeFife, executive vice president of policy and government affairs for the NRA, said in a press release. "Food safety and nutrition are critical issues for the National Restaurant Association and our members. We are pleased to welcome Joan to our team, and we look forward to her leadership and expertise."
