Foodservice vendor Guckenheimer will be purchased by European company ISS in a deal set to close later this year.

The $225 million deal will give facility services-focused ISS a growth platform in the U.S. and expand the reach of California-based Guckenheimer, which employs around 3,200 staff members in 33 states, according to a news release put out by the buyer.

ISS had “a long-stated ambition of acquiring a North American catering business,” CEO Jeff Gravenhorst said in that release, noting that the acquisition will boost ISS’s competitive edge when angling for new business.

ISS, which is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, says it has a presence in 74 countries.
