AUSTIN, Texas — A group accused of posing as a nonprofit and stealing money from concession stands was also trying to get work at the Circuit of the Americas, according to an arrest warrant.

On Friday, the University of Texas Police Department said they’re still looking for three Houston-area women they believe are connected to the $20,000 worth of stolen concession money from a Longhorn football game in August. In October, UTPD initially identified four suspects but one of them had an alibi so authorities dropped her theft charge.

“Obviously we have three other suspects with active arrest warrants and we would like to talk to them if at all possible,” said UTPD’s Lt. Charles Bonnet. “Right now, we have probable cause to believe that they were involved in this crime.”

Police are looking for April Peterson, 45, Peterson’s 18-year-old daughter Kiana Moore and Elisha Minter, 34. During the investigation of the theft at DKR Stadium, detectives were able to determine the “Little Keys Kids” and “We’re Helping Paws” nonprofit groups working the stands were fictitious and both groups had provided false certificate of liability insurance. Both groups had paperwork indicating Peterson as the point-person.

Since the University of Texas has a large reach, authorities made it a point to notify their counterparts.
