District launches grab-and-go smoothies

Students at all three high schools in Bibb County School District have a new portable breakfast option, thanks to its launch of the “Five and Go" smoothie program, WMAZ reports.

The strawberry smoothies are being promoted as an easy item to drink in the five minutes on the way to class, Cleta Long—nutrition director at the Macon, Ga., district—told WMAZ.

Long said she hopes that the smoothie program will expand throughout the county in the future.
