In his second life with Harvard University Dining Services, David Davidson has reached its pinnacle. Davidson was named the new managing director for HUDS, replacing former executive director Ted Mayer.

Davidson had been interim director since June, when Mayer left. Prior to that, he had been director of operations. Davidson originally joined Harvard in 1991 as general manager for Dudley Café. He left in 2001 to take on the role of foodservice director at Yale University. After stints at the Back Bay Restaurant Group and Phillips Exeter Academy, he returned to Harvard in 2007.

In a press release, Davidson said, “I am extremely proud of the reputation [HUDS] has built over the years, and I’m looking forward to carrying on this tradition of excellence.”
