Dining services at Texas Christian University had a sweet treat for diners to help kick off the holiday season—a cookie decorating event.  The event took place on Dec. 5 and had a turnout of 75 students who all geared up to decorate gingerbread cookies.

Students were invited to decorate as many cookies as they wanted and they were provided with different frosting colors and toppings.

The event was especially impactful for students who stay on campus during the holidays, as it was able to provide an extra dose of festive fun, said Katelyn McPherson, director of marketing at the university.

And students who leave for the holidays were still able to participate.

“Since we leave in mid-December to go back home, this event helped me and my friends get into the holiday spirit while at school," said Maria Maldonado, a junior at Texas Christian University
