American Airlines to debut fine dining for first-class fliers
The Flagship Dining experience will take off in early 2017.
American Airlines will soon offer restaurant-style dining for first-class customers prior to their departure on international and transcontinental flights.
The Flagship Dining experience will debut in early 2017 at New York City’s John F. Kennedy Airport, and will offer complimentary, full-service tableside dining, with seasonal menus curated by a New York-based executive chef.
“Our goal is to deliver chef-driven creations and local flavors, giving customers a five-star restaurant experience when they travel,” Fernand Fernandez, the carrier’s VP of Global Marketing, said in a statement. “The only thing left to do is board the plane.”
The new concept will roll out at other airports later in 2017, including Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport and Miami International Airport. Each location will also have its own executive chef, according to officials.
