Dawn Aubrey was on Wednesday named this year’s recipient of the Theodore W. Minah Distinguished Service Award, the top honor given by the National Association of College & University Food Services (NACUFS).

“In our current climate of supply chain and staffing challenges, it sometimes seems like a miracle when we successfully navigate daily operations, manage expectations, and make strides in pursuit of programmatic excellence,” Aubrey said while accepting the award, per a press release. “Before me today are the boldest and best ‘miracle workers’ of our industry, and I am awed and humbled by each of your successes and contributions.”

The Minah Award annually spotlights individuals who have helped C&U foodservice and NACUFS evolve.

Aubrey’s longstanding career in higher-ed foodservice has included time at the University of Illinois, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and, now, the University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities campus as part of Compass Group.

She received the award during NACUFS’ 2022 National Conference in Spokane, Wash.
