Via Christi Senior Services will take over management of dining and several other services for the Wichita Center, a convent housing 80 Catholic nuns of the St. Louis-based Adorers of the Blood of Christ order, reports the Wichita Eagle. The order has already cooperated in the past with the Wichita-based Catholic Via Christi health care system on a number of social service initiatives.

Via Christi is handling financial and clinical operations for the convent, which includes an onsite nursing home for elderly nuns. It also will manage the center's nutrition services, communications, IT and human resources and plans to try to get the convent licensed as a long-term care center eligible for state Medicaid reimbursement.
