Unidine Expands into 22nd State

Unidine entered the North Carolina market for the first time with a contract to manage dining services for the Penick Village senior retirement community in Southern Pines. North Carolina becomes the 22nd state in which Unidine, one of the fastest growing foodservice companies in the country according to FM's 2015 Top 50 Contract Management Companies listing, operates.

A Welcome Reception on April 16 at the community featured produce from local suppliers that will be working with the company. Among the programs Unidine plans to bring to Penick are the Hydrate for Health infused water hydration program and its proprietary OHSOGOOD health and wellness brand.

“The Penick Village team has embraced our Fresh Food Pledge and our scratch cooking philosophy,” said Steve Servant, president of Unidine’s Senior Living Culinary Group, in a press release announcing the deal. “By selecting Unidine to transform the culinary experience, Penick is enhancing its commitment to residents, staff and the community.”

In the same release, Penick Village CEO Jeffrey Hutchins said Unidine was selected based on the company’s operating philosophy which combines nutrition, culinary expertise, hospitality and education to change the dining experience.
