The University of Maryland Dining Services has discontinued its three-year-old reusable bottle/mug program "because of lack of use," reports the Diamondback campus paper. The program, launched in 2007 by Dining Services, was funded jointly by that department and the Resident Life Department for a year before the latter pulled out citing lack of participation by students. Dining Services kept the program going for another year before coming to the same conclusion.
