UMass Floats Meal Plan Change Proposal

The University of Massachusetts at Amherst announced proposed changes in the meal plan choices resident students would be offered next school year, reports the Daily Collegian. The options do away with the retail equivalence component of current plans in favor of unlimited access to the all-you-care-to-eat dining commons. A third option provides 200 swipes-per-semester at the dining commons sites.

All the plans would include dining dollars that could be used at campus retail locations. The proposed changes affect only residential meal plans; commuter meal plans would retain the retail equivalence component. Pricing for the proposed new plans have yet to be finalized.
