The University of Connecticut’s Director of Dining Services Dennis Pierce was promoted to executive director of dining services and will report to the vice president of student affairs. The change in status comes after considerable growth of the scope of dining services operations over the last eight years under Pierce.

Some of the new ventures, in addition to current operations, include the Co-op Café, the café in the new Storrs downtown bookstore, a convenience store, a $9-million renovation to McMahon’s dining facility, a centralized catering production facility and a dining services program coming online at the Avery point campus—just to name a few.

Future projects include adding a 700-seat dining facility associated with the construction of a new Honors Living-Learning Community, a renovation of Putnam Refectory, assuming management and operation of Coffee Concept at the Waterbury Campus and a dining program at both the new downtown Hartford site as well as the UConn Law School.
