Treat America Food Services has announced that it will change its name to Company Kitchen, with the change to be implemented over the course of this calendar year.

The new company name reflects the firm’s increased focus on its Company Kitchen micro market concept, which it rolled out in 2010 and which is now in more than 1,000 locations in 40 states, according to its website. Henceforth the company’s various business lines will utilize the CK prefix, so the corporate cafeterias it operates will be referred to as CK Cafés, its micro markets as CK Markets, its vending operations as CK Vending, its office coffee services as CK Coffee and its catering operations as CK Catering, all under the umbrella of the Company Kitchen parent brand.

In addition, the company’s senior management has been realigned with John Barnes being named COO with oversight of all vending, manual foodservice and micromarket businesses while Jim Mitchell is now CIO overseeing software engineering and IT support as well as analytics and Bill Pellien is now Chief Customer Officer, leading all sales and marketing activities.

“As we invest in brand development and consumer and client engagement tools, we need a single identity that embodies our emphasis on employee benefit, health and wellness and continuous innovation,” explained CEO John Mitchell Jr. in a press release announcing the moves. “We are committed to the Company Kitchen brand and will continue to invest heavily to promote it.”

Treat America ranked No. 24 in FM’s 2016 Top 50 Contract Management companies listing with 2015 revenues of $111 million. The business is concentrated in the B&I segment though the company also has a presence in the college, government, K-12, hospital and sports/entertainment markets as well.
