A teacher at Germantown (PA) High school claims she was fired recently for complaining about fellow teachers taking federally funded summer lunches meant for indigent students, reports the Philadelphia Daily News. Samenia Mayer says that she complained to the school district as well as to the principal of the high school where the thefts were occurring but was told to leave the matter alone. When she didn't, she was dismissed. According to the Daily News, the school would not have enough box lunches left for students even after over-ordering. An investigation by the district concluded that Mayer's charges were unfounded though some students backed her charges.
