Bruce Taher, CEO of Taher Inc., a foodservice management company based in Minnetonka, Minn., is paying $37,000 to charity to host a private farewell dinner at La Belle Vie, a fine dining landmark in Minneapolis that is closing on October 24 after 17 years in business, reports Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.

Taher was the winning bidder at the Minneapolis Taste of the Nation benefit held October 18 for the privilege of having La Belle Vie’s star chef Tim McKee cook a multi-course meal for him and 49 guests. All proceeds, which totaled $130,000 at the benefit, go to Share Our Strength, a national nonprofit that seeks to end child hunger.

Taher Inc. ranked No. 23 on Food Management’s 2015 Top 50 Contract Management Companies listing with 2014 revenues of $110 million. The company specializes in serving the K-12 segment but also operates in a number of others, including B&I, colleges and senior dining, as well as several local commercial restaurants (but not La Belle Vie).
