A new dining outlet called Mississippi Steak replaced the noodle/sushi-themed Miso at Mississippi State University, more than doubling the average daily take in the early going, reports the Reflector campus paper. Miso had averaged about $1,400 a day in sales last year at the location in the Colvard Student Union, while Mississippi Steak hit $3,000 on its first day of operation and apparently has been maintaining similarly high sales since.

Based on student surveys of what they wanted, the new eatery specializes in Philly cheesesteak sandwiches but also retains the previous concept’s sushi, soup and noodle bowl menu selections. It opens daily for breakfast (with a breakfast menu) during the week at 7:30 am and on Sunday at 8 am and operates until 8 pm. It is closed on Saturdays.
