Celebrity chef Ed Brown will serve as consulting chef to Restaurant Associates for its corporate dining and cultural center accounts. Brown spent much of his career with RA, starting in 1990 when he helped the company open the landmark Tropica restaurant in the MetLife Building. He went on to oversee all the company’s culinary programs at MetLife and also served as executive chef at the Sea Grill restaurant in the Rockefeller Center for 14 years before leaving earlier this year to open his own restaurant, eighty one, on New York’s Upper West Side.

RA manages restaurants at more than 100 accounts, including various cultural center sites such as the Morgan Dining Room at the Morgan Library in New York, Table 1280 in the Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta and C5 at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto. It is also planning on opening a new restaurant concept at the Guggenheim Museum in 2009. As part of his consulting duties, Brown will open eighty one for use as an advanced culinary training site for RA's chefs.
