Three employees of an independently owned quickservice restaurant located near Purdue University's main campus were terminated after it was found that they were convicted sex offenders in violation of their parole agreements: the restaurant where they were working were located inside a thousand feet of a public park.

Earlier, Purdue's Dept. of Housing & Food Service had been notified by local police of the men's presence in the restaurant, located at the edge of the school's main campus. (The police themselves had been notified by an Indiana Department of Corrections agent, according to the Purdue Exponent, the campus newspaper. Such situations in Indiana are governed by specific statutes).

In response, the school posted fliers in nearby residence halls informing students, and shortly afterwards, the men were terminated by their employer, which is not affiliated with Purdue Housing & Food Services.
