NRA Expects Self-Op Onsite FS to Hit $54.2B in 2012

The National Restaurant Association expects self-operated noncommercial (onsite) foodservice to post an aggregate increase of 3.7% (0.9% after inflation) in 2012 to reach $54.2 billion in sales, reports Food Management's sister publication, Nation's Restaurant News. The category includes B&I, public and private K-12 schools, colleges/universities, transportation, hospitals, eldercare facilities, club and sporting/recreational camps and community centers where the dining services are managed in-house. Contracted foodservice's in onsite locations are covered in a separate category under the Commercial Restaurant Services umbrella.
