Continental Airlines plans to discontinue serving free meals in economy class beginning this fall. The last of the major carriers to offer free meals in economy, Continental will instead offer an expanded menu of “high quality, healthy food choices” for which it will charge yet-to-be-determined prices. Complimentary food will continue to be offered to coach passengers on international flights and domestic flights longer than six hours.
