Mets, Nathans in Citi Field Deal
March 16, 2009
The New York Mets have announced a new multiyear partnership with Nathan’s Famous to bring the company’s signature hot dogs, French fries and full menu of classic New York fare to concessions stands, club spaces, and suites at the Mets’ new home ballpark, Citi Field, which opens April 13th.
In addition to promotional media and in-park signage such as logo presence at all stands, hawkers, and menu boards, Nathan’s Famous will host an official run-up event at Citi Field to its famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest.
“Although born in Brooklyn in 1916, Nathan's really grew up on Long Island and Queens,” says Nathan’s CEO Eric Gatoff. “Based upon our heritage, it seems fitting and we are truly honored to have been named as the official hot dog and as the official French fry of the New York Mets.”
“A Nathan’s Famous hot dog and fries are staples of the ballpark experience,” adds Mets Executive Vice President Dave Howard. “Continuing our partnership with Nathan’s Famous at Citi Field combines Mets tradition with a landmark New York institution.”
