LoC Chooses New Food Vendor
July 8, 2009
The Library of Congress has hired FAME Food Management to operate its in-house food services and position it for a planned expansion of onsite dining operations, reports Roll Call. The only onsite dining venue currently is a small cafeteria on the sixth floor of the James Madison Building. Plans call for another dining room and a coffee shop in that building as well as a dining outlet in the courtyard of the Thomas Jefferson Building.
Dining operations at the Library had been managed by Sodexo until 2007, when the Library engaged I.L. Creations, a local firm that also operates at the Commerce Department, the Justice Department, the DEA, the Coast Guard headquarters and various other locations around the Nation’s Capital. FAME also operates in other Washington government facilities, including the Government Printing Office and the Department of Labor.
