Jose Andres concept to open at Penn
Beefsteak menus bowl-based meals emphasizing grains and vegetables.
The Jose Andres restaurant concept Beefsteak will open a unit on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania early next year, according to local press reports. It will be located in the school’s Houston Market facility but will reportedly be open to the general public as well as students and the campus community.
The opening is in cooperation with campus dining services provider Bon Appetit Management Co., which operates all foodservices at Penn. Beefsteak will be the second celebrity chef concept at Penn, joining Rick Bayless’ Tortas Fronteras concept, which opened in February 2014.
Beefsteak’s menu is based on bowls of grains topped with freshly cooked vegetables, signature sauces and various toppings, including meats. Currently, there are two locations in Washington DC, including one at George Washington University.
