Harrison, Conklin Honored at SNA LAC

Mary Kate Harrison, general manager of nutrition services for the Hillsborough County (FL) Schools and Chef Jill Conklin, sales development manager for Winston Industries, were among those honored at a special "A Possible Dream" gala held by the Global Child Nutrition Foundation during the recent Legislative Action Conference of the School Nutrition Association (SNA). The event also recognized Sen. Richard Lugar (R-Ind.) with the Gene White Lifetime Achievement Award for Child Nutrition for his work in Congress on behalf of school nutrition programs.

Harrison was named the SNA 2010 Outstanding Director of the Year for her leadership activities with SNA and Hillsborough County Schools, while Conklin was named the SNA 2010 Individual Industry Member of the Year for her work as chair of the Chef's Table initiative.

Honorary chair of the gala was Rep. Charles Patrick Roberts (R-Kan.) while Dan Glickman and Susan Neely served as masters of ceremonies. Speakers included Rep. Robert Casey (D-Penn.) and Dr. Rajiv Shah, administrator of USAID.
