Google’s New York City operation is trimming back some of the company’s famous food perks, according to an internal memo obtained by the Valleywag.com blog site. The memo, from Kim Huskey, food services manager for the Northeast and Canada, details some minor cutbacks in meal service hours in the café, and indicates there “will be changes to the selection of snacks in the microkitchens.” It also reminds staffers that evening meals are “for those working late in the office and [are] not intended to be taken home.” Like many companies, Google has had to trim costs in the face of declining revenues due to the current economic slump.
