Linton’s manages onsite dining for institutional clients like K-12 schools, hospitals and correctional facilities. It also distributes pre-packaged meals (including textured meals), groceries and nonfood items like cleaning and paper supplies, a line of business that generates just under a fifth of company revenues.
In 2014, the 125-year-old firm moved to a larger corporate office to support its expanded management and clinical staff. It also enhanced and expanded its residential grocery and meal delivery online system, while its K-12 division introduced Fresh in 14 customized planning and recipes to its menus. With its decorative signage and banners, Fresh in 14 is designed to transform cafeterias into enticing spaces that encouraging healthy eating. Another new K-12 initiative, Break the Cycle, personalizes school menu programs to allow each school’s meals to be tailored to their students’ likes.

Other 2014 initiatives included partnerships with local farm fresh distributors securing USDA Farm to School grants and with Philadelphia’s Food Fit Philly citywide program for LIntons senior residential living facility clients. A partnership with the Common Market food hub in Philadelphia brought more fresh, locally grown produce to client sites, including some 35 Philadelphia charter schools.
