Joanne Kinsey, director of school nutrition services for Chesapeake (VA) Public Schools, has been named winner of the Golden School Foodservice Director of the Year award in the 20th annual Foodservice Achievement Management Excellence (FAME) Awards competition.

The other 2009 FAME Award winners include…

  • Stephanie Bruce, director of foodservice at Chaffey Joint Union High School District in Ontario, CA (Silver Leadership Award);

  • Sally Spero, SNS, food planning supervisor for San Diego USD (Silver Spirit Award);

  • Jodi Risee, MS, RD, LDN, supervisor of food & nutrition services at Anne Arundel County Public Schools in Annapolis, MD (Silver Rising Star Award); and

  • Debra Amos, SNS, foodservice director at Arcadia (CA) Unified School District (Silver Special Achievement Award).

Also, Tracey Tinder, Southwest Region manager for education at ConAgra Foods, was named winner of the Silver Friend of Child Nutrition Award. The 2009 FAME Awards competition was sponsored by Basic American Foods, Hobart Corp., Schwan's Food Services, Inc., and Tyson Foods, Inc.

The 2009 awards will be presented at an event on Jan. 18, 2009 at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel in New Orleans during the School Nutrition Association's Child Nutrition Industry Conference.
