California Pizza Kitchen to Open at USC
March 1, 2010
California Pizza Kitchen will open a location at the University of Southern California this fall in a franchise partnership with USC Hospitality, the school’s dining services department. The unit, to be located in the new USC Ronald Tutor Campus Center Food Court, will be the third CPK unit on a college campus and the first at a school with self-operated dining services. Lackmann Dining Services, a New York based management company, operates CPK locations at its operations at Hofstra University and at Stony Brook University, the latter opened at the beginning of this year.
USC Hospitality had polled the USC student body about which commercial concepts it would most like to see at the new campus center, and 77 percent picked CPK. When it opens, the USC CPK will offer a specialized selection of the chain’s most popular pizzas, pastas, salads and panini sandwiches. USC Hospitality operates 38 dining concepts on USC’s two campuses.
