More than two dozen vendors participated in the inaugural BYU Stadium Farmers Market in the LaVell Edwards Stadium parking lot on the campus of Brigham Young University, reports the Deseret News. The vent, on Thursday, September 23, drew nearly 5,000 people, who came to look at and purchase local produce as well as treats and crafts. One booth was manned by BYU Executive Chef John McDonald, who demonstrated and served recipes utilizing peaches.

BYU Dining Director Dean Wright says the event, which will be repeated for three more consecutive Thursdays in late September and October, is designed to meet the needs of students who lack transportation to other farmers markets in the area.
