Bowling Green Program Allows Students to Donate Some Unused Meal Swipes
With Falcon Care, a BG student can deposit one swipe a week into a "bank" for use by food-insecure peers.

The Falcon Care program at Bowling Green (Ohio) State University allows students with extra meal plan swipes near the end of a semester to donate them to students facing food insecurity, reports the BG News. The program, in effect since the fall semester, allows students to place one swipe per week into a “swipe bank” collected by dining services. They are then loaded onto cards containing five swipes each and distributed by the Office of the Dean of Students to students referred by a University health or financial office. To maintain the recipients' anonymity, the cards are indistinguishable from temporary meal cards given to visitors.
