AHF Adds SoCal, New Jersey Chapters
January 28, 2011
The Association for Healthcare Foodservice (AHF) has added chapters in Southern California and New Jersey as affiliates. The Southern California Association for Healthcare Foodservice Chapter affiliation became official in January when it became incorporated. Moises Brito, Materials Manager/Safety Officer at UCLA Health System was selected to serve as president of the chapter.
The Southern California Chapter joins The Greater New Jersey Society for Healthcare Food Service Administrators (GNJSHFSA) as the latest chapter affiliates. GNJSHFSA affiliated with AHF in November, 2010. Joanne McMillian, Director at Saint Clare’s Hospital serves as president of the Greater New Jersey chapter.
"We extend our warmest welcome to the Southern California and Greater New Jersey chapters," says AHF President Denisa Cate. "The Greater New Jersey Chapter has a long history of providing a forum for education and professional growth to members of the healthcare foodservice industry and the newly created Southern California Chapter is promising energy and activity for those in the area who have not yet experienced the benefits of a local chapter. We look forward to their feedback and participation."
AHF chapters provide a forum for members and healthcare foodservice professionals to communicate and exchange information at the grassroots level. They may also provide continuing education and networking and collaboration opportunities. Chapter affiliates also serve as a conduit for regional perspectives and expertise to the national organization.
The new AHF affiliations raise the total number of active regional chapters to 10, including the Chicago Midwest Chapter, Florida Chapter, Greater New York Chapter, Hoosier Chapter, North Central Texas Chapter, Oregon Chapter, Southern Wisconsin Chapter and Washington State Chapter.
