Yale University Dining Services has announced it will once again become a self-operated foodservice program.

Ernest Huff, Yale's associate vice president of student finance and administrative services, informed staff that the decision was effective June 19 and will take place over the course of a transition period.

"Yale University Dining is now well-positioned to be a leader in college dining and in sustainable food," says Huff.

"This transition builds on Yale's ongoing commitment to increased student satisfaction, excellence in operations, sustainability in the dining halls, and strong staffing."

Yale's dining services department has been operated by Aramark for the past nine years, with many of the dining the facilities undergoing significant renovation during that time.
