MIDNIGHT MUNCHIES. U-GA students make a (very) early breakfast.

The round-the-clock service at the University of Georgia's Snelling Dining Hall kicked off on March 19th, the night after school resumed following spring break.

FSD J. Michael Floyd says 516 customers came through the doors between midnight and 7 a.m., and Floyd should know, since he greeted them at the door personally, giving away hats and t-shirts with the department's signature "Let the Big Dawg Eat" logo. Many brought cameras to record the moment.

"It was a great success last night," the sleep-deprived but happy Floyd says. "We even had some customers show up in their pajama bottoms. But what even pleased me more was the number of comments from students who told me that they were moving off campus next fall but are planning on staying on the meal plan."

Floyd says one of the major goals of the extended hour strategy is to increase returning customer participation in the meal plans for next year.
