We have a really strict no leniency policy where if we catch a student stealing, it’s a $100 fine, even if it’s your first time being caught. To encourage our student workers to really take ownership in helping to crack down on theft, we give the employee who catches the thief $50 of the fine to keep. It’s really worked well for us.
