Lackmann Culinary Services newest concept: The Cereal Box

Inspired by a generation on the move, Cereal Box is a new stand-alone concept from Lackmann Culinary Services that combines portability, nutrition and choice.

Simply fill a cereal box (the familiar Chinese food takeout box) with a choice from, or a mix of, eight types of whole grain cereals—granola to frosted flakes— available in self-serve dispensers. Pre-packaged name brand cereals are also available. Toss in a choice of toppings and milks—fresh banana or dried fruit, soy or whole milk—and you've got an easy yet nutritious grab 'n go meal or snack.

"Set meal periods are increasingly blurred because of time constraints," says Andrew Lackmann, LCS chairman and CEO. "We created Cereal Box with portability in mind, as well as providing diners with easy access and choice."

First introduced at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY, LCS says it plans to introduce the concept to additional sites in coming months.
