We went to our on-campus food bank and noticed they had lots of certain items like corn and beans. We decided to put together a bag with everything you need to make a recipe using the items they have excessive amounts of. We add the spices and other higher-priced items, so the person can make a good, tasty meal.

For example, we do a chili that uses the canned beans and corn, but we give a small baggie of the spice blend and add tomato and other ingredients. The person can just take the bag and be able to prepare something delicious.
