San Benito ISD students can look forward to their newly opened Tyson Crustano’s Sandwich Crafters station. The district, in Austin, TX, is the first in the nation to open this concept, one of several deployed by the Tyson Branded Solution program. Jana Landrum, San Beito’s child nutrition director, moved to a branded kiosk system in the cafeteria to accommodate the 1,900 students who all share a single 30-minute lunch period. So far, a daily average of 225 meals are sold from the sandwich unit. “We were looking for a solution for an artisan sandwich line for the middle and high school students that conforms with the Child Nutrition Program standards,” says Landrum. Other Branded Solutions concepts include Ancho Grill, Sunset Strips and Bonici Italian Eatery.
