Yield: 12 servings

12 pre-sliced Gourmet Pretzel Buns
butter, as needed
24 slices ham
24 slices turkey or chicken
24 slices Swiss cheese
mustard or dressing, as needed, optional
Batter:
6 large eggs
2⁄3 cup milk
1⁄4 tsp. salt

  1. Thaw gourmet Pretzel buns.

  2. Butter inside of buns (both sides).

  3. Layer bottom bun with 2 slices of ham and 2 slices or turkey or chicken.

  4. Spread with mustard or dressing (if desired).

  5. Place 2 slices of cheese on top.

  6. Place top on pretzelwich and secure with toothpicks.

  7. For the batter: Beat eggs with milk and salt.

  8. Dip pretzelwich into the egg mixture and fry on a hot skillet or griddle in butter.

  9. Brown on both sides, adding more butter when necessary.

  10. Remove toothpicks before serving.
