Lunch Lady Criticized for Quality of Her Food

The head cook at a Swedish school has been censured by authorities—for serving food that was “too good,” reports international news service The Local. Apparently, to Swedish authorities, it is unfair to kids in neighboring districts that this cook makes such good stuff for her school...so they’ve asked her to cut it out and stop making everyone else look bad.

Just Desserts wonders if the same principle is applied in other areas as well. For example, if one school had an unusually effective teacher, would that teacher be told to dummy it down so that everyone can get the same mediocre education as a matter of “fairness”…
