Kozy Shack Enterprises founder Vincent Gruppuso has passed away at age 67. Gruppuso founded the company that pioneered individually portioned cups of pudding in 1967 after being impressed with the rice pudding served by a deli—the Cozy Shack—in Brooklyn, NY, where he was working as a bread deliveryman. He purchased the recipe and set up a production facility in Queens, NY. Today, Kozy Shack sells more than 100 million 4-oz. cups and 22-oz. containers of its pudding products annually, generating revenues of around $140 million.
