They've swung their dead eel in Lyme The fishing town England's south coast traditionally held an contest known as cuddling" as a fundraiser for the local lifeboat, Reuters. However, after an animal activist complained that the event was "disrespectful to dead fish," the town's lifeboat guild decided cancel rather than risk bad publicity.
What's "conger cuddling"? To outsiders, it sounds bizarre. Members of competing teams stand on small wooden blocks and try to knock each other off with a dead conger eel tied to a piece of rope. The team with the last person standing wins.
So, they've been smacking each other around with a dead fish for ages, and NOW they're worried about "bad publicity"?!
