Previously, we had not done anything to celebrate the sisters’ birthdays. Now, once a month we have a birthday celebration for those nuns whose birthdays fall on that month. We set up a table for them at dinner, and they have a special menu with items like filet mignon or crab imperial. We also wait on the table—our meals usually are self-serve. If a birthday resident is too ill to come down, we send their special tray to them.
