Bases (and Nachos) Loaded: 9 New Stadium Eats

New opening day menus by Aramark feature loaded hot dogs, original sandwiches, burgers with a twist and new fiery items with Latin flavors.

"Each season, we work to create new and exciting menu items, while also staying true to ballpark classics and fan favorites," says Marc Bruno, president, Aramark Sports and Entertainment.

The culinary team considers fan feedback and culinary trends to come up with inventive chow-down options for game day at each of the 11 Major League Baseball stadiums partnered with Aramark.

New hot dogs like Harry's Double Dog (Extra long hot dog, pickled red onions, tomato relish and jalapeno cheese) at Citizens Bank Park will definitely deliver some exciting flavor. Another 'hot' dog is the aptly named Firehouse Dog, guaranteed to spice up a slow ballgame with nacho cheese, sliced jalapeno and Fritos. Crunchy!

Love for Latin flavor is evident this season, with the Smothered Empanada at Coors Field (it's smothered in green chili, shredded lettuce, pico and sour cream). Other Latin-inspired items include Hand Crafted Burritos at Citizens Ball Park (available with pork or vegetarian style), Carnitas Nachos at Coors field, and the 12 Kitchen Nacho at Rogers Centre (in honor of Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar: Home cooked kettle chips, cheese, charred corn and roasted pineapple salsa, bacon, salsa verde, tomatoes, shredded pickles and jalapeno-infused Island Sauce).

Lots of hearty new sandwiches, too. The Pot Roast Sandwich at Fenway Park and Pat LaFrieda's Original Filet Mignon Steak Sandwich at Citi Field both look to be standouts of the season. The Yicketty Yamwich, a tribute to Chipper Jones, at Turner Field, is stuffed with braised short rib (mmm!), brie, cheddar, apple butter and spinach.

Going beyond your basic cheeseburger is another way to win fans. A few possible "MVPs": Garlic Knot Meatball Sliders at Citi Field; the Chicken Burger with red onion slaw and pickled tomatoes at Citizens Bank Park; and The Caz, a concept at Minute Maid Park with half-pound burgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, hand cut fries, specialty sausages and shakes.

Desserts are also on the roster. Federal Donuts (Philly's fried chicken/gourmet donuts) will be available to fans at Citzens Bank Park, and a yogurt self-serve station will be a great place to cool off at Turner Field. Click through to see these 9 new stadium eats.
