ASHFA Names 07-08 Board Members

ASHFSA (American Society for Healthcare Food Service Administrators) has named Deanne Carlisle president-elect and Patti Oliver secretary-treasurer. Carlisle is chief of nutrition & foodservice at the VA Medical Center in Portland, OR, while Oliver, is director of nutrition at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Returning Executive Committee members include Bill Notte, director of food & nutrition services at the University of Florida Shands Hospital as president; Oliver as secretary/treasurer; and Phyllis Filgate, foodservice director for Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 3 in Mineola, NY, as immediate past president.
Three new members have been named directors at large for the National Board of Directors. They are Timothy Bentzel, director of food & nutrition services for York (PA) Hospital; David Hendriks, director of food & nutrition at Trident Health System in Mt. Pleasant, SC; and Neal Lavender, director of food, nutrition & conference services at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas.
They join Tim Bauman, director of food & nutrition at Wood County Hospital in Bowling Green, OH; Denisa Cate, director of food & nutrition services at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, TN; and (ex officio) Joyce Hagen-Flint, director of food & nutrition at Regional Medical Center at Bayonet Point in Hudson, FL.
Also, Barbara Kane of Ecolab, Inc., has been named ASHFSA Board of Directors Business Partner. She will join returning Business Partner Maureen Leugers of Gordon Food Service.
