Virginia Tech’s Root Beer Roast

YIELD: 2 roasts

2 beef roasts, 3 lbs. each
garlic powder, to taste
1 (12 oz.) can of root beer
1 (12 oz.) bottle chili sauce
1 medium onion, finely chopped
kosher salt, to taste
fresh ground black pepper, to taste

1.  Sprinkle both sides of the roasts with garlic powder. Place roasts in 9x13” baking dish.

2.  Mix together root beer, chili sauce and onions. Pour the mixture over the roasts and cover in foil.

3.  Bake at 350°F for 3 hours.
