Experimentation is fueling the mixology movement. One of the techniques that is currently catching on is the combining of wine and spirits into a single cocktail. The Heathman’s take on the trend in a margarita topped with pinot noir—a wine that’s local to Oregon. 

Ingredients

1 1/2 oz. tequila
3/4 oz. agave syrup
1/4 oz. triple sec
1 oz. pinot noir
Rosemary sprig, for garnish

Steps

  1. Fill cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in tequila, agave and triple sec. Shake well.

  2. Pour into cocktail glass and top with pinot noir. Garnish with rosemary. Serve immediately.
